Well. No words can truly describe the feeling of summiting and the whole expedition.
There has been so much joy, laughter and fun along the way while putting in a considerable effort to achieve such an amazing goal.
Yes there was a lot of sweat, a little bit of blood from cuts and grazes but the only tears were of joy upon summiting.
A couple of years ago I woke up sharply thinking my dream was to summit Aconcagua in memory of my late father who unfortunately was medically evacuated a few years prior from this very mountain. The week before my father passed away he said he was going to go back and to summit as he did not like being beaten by it. Sadly he never did.
It's been a great process to go though, to achieve his goal, and I have met so many amazing people, but most of all I cannot say a big enough thank you to Willie for making my dream happen. He is such an amazing guide and person who is so very talented and just a lovely human being. I have learnt so much from him both on a mountaineering front but also personally and I feel this trip has given me more passion and enthusiasm for life.
He has given me the confidence and self belief that I can achieve great things if I put my mind to it.
And now I can't wait to see what future adventures the year will hold!
Thank you Willie and BBE,
Rowena.
Smiles on the Summit
