20/04/2018
Great news in from Damian via our satellite messenger! He, Charlotte, Bjorn, Kolbjorn and Kristoffer from Norway and Orlando from Patagonia summited early this morning!
Hege, Tine and Astrid are doing fine as well. Today the team will enjoy some well-deserved rest at Base Camp, and tomorrow start the long hike towards Baruntse, the Amphulapcha Pass, and home! Bjorn, Charlotte and Damian will be heading for Baruntse Base Camp the day the rest of the team hike over the pass to Chukkung. At 23,389 feet (7129m), Baruntse lies at the epicentre of three glacial valleys; the Imja, the Hinku and the Barun, commanding a central position amongst some of the highest peaks of the Himalaya, with the rewards of summit day including spectacular views of Lhotse, Everest, and Makalu.
